CURRICULUM

FOTOLaura Pasqualetti graduated in piano summa cum laude in 1983 at the “Luigi Boccherini” Conservatoire in Lucca. Her post-graduate specializations include: for solo piano with Rossana Bottai, Lya de Barberiis (Accademia S. Cecilia, Rome), and Jorg Demus (RAI, Trieste); for chamber music with the Trio di Trieste (Scuola di Musica, Fiesole), and with Trio Ciakovski (Accademia Musicale Estiva in Portogruaro)

Whilst studying music at the Lucca Conservatory, she also completed university courses, graduating in Modern Letters, majoring in the History of Music, at the University of Pisa.

She is the winner of numerous national and international piano competitions (Albenga, Osimo, Velletri, the Macugnaga Schumann, the Schubert competition of Tagliolo Monferrato, amongst many others). She has competed both in piano duos and as a soloist. Her busy schedule involves performances in various chamber formations, from the piano duo to the string quintet, but she is principally an accompanist for opera singers, and as such has played in all the main European capitals as well as in Japan, USA, Cuba, Siria, Brazil and Argentina.

Since 1992 she has been Maestro Sostituto al pianoforte e Suggeritore (Substitute pianist and prompter), and in this role has worked with the Puccini Festival at Torre del Lago, Ravenna Festival, Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, Teatro Municipale of Piacenza, Teatro del Giglio in Lucca and others.

She has collaborated in master-classes in vocal technique and interpretation held by artists like C. Desideri, R. Kabaivanska, K. Ricciarelli, A. Cupido, Magda Olivero, Anastasia Tomaszewska, and has acted as accompanist in recitals by Mariella Devia, Katia Ricciarelli, Fabio Armiliato, Norma Fantini, Bruno de Simone, Alberto Cupido etc.
In the role of Maestro collaboratore al pianoforte e Assistente musicale (collaborator at the piano and musical assistant) she has worked with such important conductors as Massimo de Bernart, Bruno Scimone, Patrick Fourniller, , Stefano Ranzani, Steven Mercurio, Larry Gilgore, Claudio Desideri, Carlo Rizzi Brignoli, Roberto, Alessandro Pinzauti, Piero Bellugi.

In 2005 she began working closely with Riccardo Muti, with whom she collaborated in a production of Donizetti's Don Pasquale, Boito's Mefistofele, Don Calandrino by Cimarosa, as well as Paisiello's Il Matrimonio Inaspettato, in the following theatres: Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, Teatro Municipale, Piacenza; Teatro Stanislavski, Moscow; Salzburger Pfingstfestspiele; Teatro Pérez Galdòs della Gran Canaria.
Since 2008 she has added teaching to her range of professional skills, and at present is accompanist for the singing class held by Laura Polverelli at the Istituto di Alta Formazione Musicale”R. Franci” in Siena (Conservatoire of Siena).
